Learn Forex Live Review

I recently purchased Hector Deville’s Learn Forex Live course and after working through the material I decided to put up this review to give others who are consisdering this product some more insight into what this course is about.

The first thing to make clear is that this is no 100 page e-book that teaches you a simple moving average based trading system like so many of these other hyped up Forex courses on the market. This is a comprehensive Forex course that covers everything from basic trading fundamentals to advanced trading systems in a series of videos that are more than 15 hours in length. The Learn Forex Live course consists of a number of highly effective trading strategies and it covers virtually all the popular ways to trade the market, including riding the trends, trading breakouts, news trading, price action trading with pin bars, trendline breakouts and many others. Each trading strategy is covered in great depth, complete with many live trading examples.

In addition to the trading strategies you also receive a very detailed money management strategy and a set of custom indicators that are probably worth hundreds of dollars on their own. These are not blackbox indicators that you just follow blindly, they are simply tools to help automate some of the manual things that Hector teaches in the course. I especially like the Trend Scanner index that identifies currencies with good trends and the Forex Currency Index, which is a bit to complex to explain here.  Hector also provides a news calendar indicator that uses information from Forex Factory to display daily news evens inside your Metatrader terminal.

The important question is if Hectors strategies are profitable or not. I personally have no doubt that these are the exact methods that many professional traders use. Hector doesn’t teach any custom or “secret” trading strategies.. he teaches well known price action strategies that have proven themselves over time. If you are looking for a course that teaches exact strategies for things like pin bars, inside/outside bars, trendine breakouts etc. then this is really a no-brainer. These type of courses usually cost thousands of dollars, so Hector’s price offers really good value.

The only negative thing I can say about Learn Forex Live is that there is no pdf version of the course. You have to follow along with the videos and it can be hard to refer back to something in earlier modules. Hector also tends to repeat things a lot, but that’s just his way of making sure that you understand the concepts 100%.

I’ll definitely recommend this course to anyone looking for ways to improve their Forex trading. Even if the full course is a bit too expensive, you can consider buying one or more of the modules separately or you can just start with this free trading strategy that he offers.

Hector DeVille’s Learn Forex Live course is one of the most popular online Forex courses available today. An extension of the author’s earlier “HectorTrader” Forex training course, the basic idea is to teach students the fundamentals of trend based Forex trading. Although the course is designed to be fairly easy to understand and Hector Deville uses a lot of repetition to drive home the more important points and concepts, the emphasis is not really on extreme basics for absolute beginners. Instead, it is assumed that the user at least has some basic idea of what Forex trading is and the relevant terminology, though six of the 100+ videos are designed to provide a bit of a “refresher”.

For the absolute beginner – someone who really knows virtually nothing about Forex – some sort of free introduction course would probably be a more appropriate first step as opposed to the Learn Forex Live program. For example, Babypips.com is free and covers most of the absolute basics in an entertaining way. Once the new student has these basics down, then a more advanced course – like the Learn Forex Live one – would make more sense and be more appropriate. The Learn Forex Live program is designed to help newcomers understand the concepts of trends in currency movements, helps them identify a trend as it is developing, learn how to trade on the trend and then how to get away from the trend before it ends. While all of this knowledge is certainly meant for newcomers to the market, it is also assumed that the newcomer already has at least a basic understanding of it.

Further, unlike the older HectorTrader program, the Learn Forex Live program also goes beyond basic trend knowledge and the indicators used to identify them and explore very specific strategies. One of the things that has always made the Hector DeVille programs unique is his heavy emphasis on the concept of money management. Thirteen separate videos – more than five hours of video – is dedicated specifically to the concept of money management and how it affects the overall profitability of your trading and this is something that is omitted from many beginners’ courses. These money management lessons alone might make the program worth the effort for a beginner, though it is still expected that the student knows at least the basic terminology beforehand.  Therefore, while the Learn Forex Live course may not be appropriate for someone that has just heard of the concept of Forex yesterday, assuming the student already has an idea of what it is and wants to participate, then the Learn Forex Live program would probably be an excellent investment.

Anyone that has looked around for information about the foreign currency exchange (Forex) market knows that there is truly an enormous amount of information about the topic online. Some of the information is free and open, some of the information comes at a cost, and some of the information is simply not revealed, though you can buy products – systems or trading bots – that use the information for your benefit. The free information obviously represents the best value for the money, but the problem is that a lot of this information is dubious at best and it is rarely organized into a cohesive system providing a comprehensive strategy or understanding of Forex and the Forex market. To get the “whole picture” from an online service, most people would benefit from buying a full course that covers the entire concept of Forex trading and provides an insightful understanding of how the market works.

There are again many full Forex courses to be found online and among these one of the most popular has been the courses offered by Hector DeVille. Originally selling a fairly comprehensive trading course as “HectorTrader” for about $200, this course has significantly expanded and is now known as “Learn Forex Live”. This new expanded course covers a lot more information and presents many more concepts than the earlier version and can be purchased in separate units. The course is designed to operate using various trend strategies, whereby the student is taught how to identify trends, how to “ride” them, and then how to pull out before the trend collapses. The basic idea of trend-based Forex trading is very traditional among professional traders and has a well established track record of success among professional traders. The Learn Forex Live programs helps newcomers to the market understand how trends work and how to profit from them.

The Learn Forex Live training program is almost completely done through a series of online videos, along with screen shots and other online media which makes it far more interactive than many other training courses; though some people do not like the fact that the course does not provide a comprehensive PDF book that people can download for offline study. Nevertheless, the course only provides a little bit of the initial basics – that frequently account for half or more of these online courses – and he quickly moves on from the basics into more detailed knowledge of how the markets work and what sort of things people should be looking for and then moves into specific strategies.
